Dr. Cruz is a double board-certified psychiatrist in both adult and child/adolescent psychiatry and served as the Chair of the American Psychiatric Association Child and Adolescent Fellowship. She offers a highly personalized and discreet practice for individuals and families seeking the highest standard of mental healthcare. Her adult clinical expertise spans anxiety, depression, ADHD, and life transitions—with a nuanced understanding of how early developmental experiences shape emotional well-being throughout life.

With children and adolescents, Dr. Cruz specializes in giftedness, ADHD, anxiety, neurodevelopmental differences, learning challenges, and school-related issues, offering tailored support for families navigating complex educational and emotional landscapes. She also works closely with parents at every stage—from pre-conception through adoption and parenthood—guiding them through the profound psychological dimensions of raising a child.

She completed her adult psychiatry training at the University of Massachusetts, child psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco, and an advanced fellowship in Infant-Parent Mental Health at the University of California, Davis.

Before practicing medicine, Dr. Cruz earned an MBA from the Georgia Institute of Technology and worked in various roles. She grew up in Costa Rica and earned her medical degree from the University of Costa Rica. This breadth of life experience informs her practice and enhances her ability to connect meaningfully with clients from diverse and high-performing backgrounds.
